Help Grow Woodland Discovery
Woodland Discovery is a non-profit (501c3) corporation whose express purpose is to provide outdoor learning activities for children of all ages.
We have operated a year-round forest school, homeschool programs, and summer camp programs for 10+ years. We are in need of increasing our scholarship fund (which has been depleted post-pandemic) for ALL children to be able to enjoy nature activities. We are one of the few Forest Schools in the Charlotte area, and we draw students from 8 counties around Concord.
Additionally, we need new fishing poles and other summer and community program supplies. We are increasing our gardening areas and recently included an apiary.
We have lots of ideas and "wish list" items, but funds raised would primarily fund scholarships and program supplies so that we are able to continue hosting free "Nature Days" for the community as we often partner with other local non-profits to provide free community events.

Our Work Matters
Environmental education works. The benefits of outdoor learning and environmental education are remarkable and well-documented. Research shows that regular time in nature can make us healthier, happier, smarter, and better stewards of the environment. That makes environmental education just as important for our participants as it is for the planet.
Learners of all ages, from infancy through adulthood, can benefit from the connection to and understanding of our environments that comes from environmental education. Implementing EE into every school day can build the foundation for lifelong engagement.
