On Saturday, May 29, Army National Guard member, Derek Yorek will attempt to break the World Record for the fastest Murph in honor of FitOps and to show his gratitude to those who have fallen in service to our country.

The World Record is currently held by Hunter McIntyre who completed the grueling work out in 34minutes and 13 seconds. Derek will set a goal of completing the Murph in 32minutes flat.

The Murph consists of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another one-mile run, all done consecutively.

The Murph was created in memory of Navy Lt. Michael Murphy who died in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005, and people across the globe complete the workout every year on Memorial Day to honor the fallen.

Tune in to the @fitops IG Live at 10am CST/ 11am EST to see Derek shatter the current world record!
