Howdy! Help me raise $ to provide transportation 4 families & friends of incarcerated men @ Angola

raised by 12 people

$500 goal

Hey y'all. Here's what's up. I'm doing this super exciting 170-mile bike ride with like 80 other people to the Louisiana State Penitentiary a.ka. Angola as a means to raise money for loved ones who cannot afford transportation to the penitentiary and visit their incarcerated friends & family members. Over the course of three days in mid-October, we ride from Orleans Parish Prison in New Orleans to Angola, the Louisiana State Penitentiary.  The funds raised support the Cornerstone Builders Bus Project, which sends free monthly transportation for families to hug and love on those who need it the most. Nola to Angola supports first-time riders and builds connections between riders and organizations working against mass incarceration. The ride is entirely volunteer-run. Your donation will help families stay connected!

This cause is super personal and near and dear to my heart. I'd appreciate a few bucks to get my butt on this bike.

  • 1 bus from New Orleans costs $1200
  • 1 bus from Shreveport costs $2000
  • $25 funds one round-trip ride from New Orleans
  • $50 funds both a parent and child from New Orleans
  • $75 allows one individual to visit 3x per year
  • $100 funds a four-person family from New Orleans

Aaaand here's some stuff to get you more knowledgable on the subject if you'd like:
