Family Name: Glitter

The Glitter family is facing an unimaginably difficult holiday season after the sudden loss of their beloved mother, and sister-in-law, on October 1, 2024. Her three children and her family are left devastated. Her children were her entire world, and she was their rock, their cheerleader, and their ultimate hockey mom.

Now under the care of their uncle, with the support of extended family, the children are navigating their grief, each in their own way. The trauma of losing their mother has deeply affected them, and this holiday season will be especially hard without her love and warmth. Let us come together this  holidat season and bring this grieving fmaily some holiday cheer!

1. The youngest Gliter is an 8 years old little girl

• Impact of Loss: She shared a special bond with her mom, who was her best friend. She is struggling with flashbacks and trying to adjust to life without her.

• Favorites and Interests:

  • Sports: Islanders hockey

  • Activities: Recently started playing lacrosse

• Clothing Needs: Youth size 10 (sweaters, leggings, boyfriend jeans)

• Dream Wishes: Makeup, jewelry, skincare fun, Squishmallows, Lululemon items, and baking supplies

2. The middle Glitter is a 12 year old young boy 

• Impact of Loss: He is finding it especially hard to cope, often struggling to stay in school and worrying about who will support him after hockey games and in his day-to-day life.

• Favorites and Interests:

  • Shows: Stranger Things

  • Sports: Islanders hockey

• Clothing Needs: Youth XL or adult XS (Hollister sweat outfits)

• Dream Wishes: Wireless headset for PlayStation, wireless phone charger (iPhone 13), mini mystery hockey sticks, and any Islanders or hockey-related items

3. The oldest Glitter is a 16 year old young man

• Impact of Loss: As the eldest, he is taking on responsibilities his mom once handled and is trying to be strong for his siblings while processing his own grief.

• Favorites and Interests:

  • Hobbies: Anything horror or Halloween-themed

  • Sports: Islanders hockey (he is also a hockey player)

• Clothing Needs: Hollister sweatshirts and pants size small

• Dream Wishes: Wireless headset for PlayStation, Uber Eats gift cards, and any hockey-related items
