Benefits of the AAA Scholarship Program

Students who have earned scholarships are provided with training and exposure the art and theory of dance movement presentation, theater, and voice. This is a resource to the disadvantaged youth and young adults in order to enhance their personal sense of value, reinforcement of academic skill, and development as a creative innovative leader for the future.

Your investment will allow Divine Dance Institute to continue offering high-quality arts instruction to more than 250 students each year, ensuring that youth thru seniors from all backgrounds experience the benefits of the performing arts. At the studios in Greater Capitol Heights, students from ages 2 to 81 receive training in diverse classical and contemporary dance disciplines, theater (stage, film, & TV), and vocal training while accessing wrap-around services (aftercare enrichment, academic supports, mentoring, and leadership development) that support their success – with impressive results over these last 19 years. Some 95% of graduates complete high school, with many moving on to excellent university programs and professional companies/careers arts-related.  The community, the public, benefit as well through digital and live performances, special empowerment events, pre-professional master training experiences, and masterclasses that unlock the gifting of Divine Dance Institute students and the diverse professional company in residence to more than 7,000 audience members each year. We have had some amazing leaders to be served through this organization and we want to continue supporting and directing the next generation into a positive path by way of artistic expression.

DDI provides an environment that is conducive to arts education and academic enrichment which prepares an intergenerational community for the continually evolving international arts arena. The school at DDI offers an open community-wide dance and theater program, A NEWLY formed Distance Learning enrichment, an after-school enrichment program, and a full-day summer S.T.E.A.M. enrichment program. It is also the home of pre-professional contemporary outreach performing art ensembles, a company in residence, SoundXPressed Dance Company (Wash,DC) and a creative aging program, Promise Plus. We develop dynamic instruments to play a positive role in making harmonious music in the hearts of all who encounter their expressions through movement and dramatic presentation. It is the fulfillment of DDI’s vision to be a source of impartation and inspiration for those who want to make an impact in the community through arts and humanities.
