Albert’s Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue that focuses solely on providing compassionate care to senior, special needs, and hospice dogs. It was formed in late 2017 by two women with a shared love and passion for underdogs (seniors and special needs dogs) after seeing how many weren't getting homes and were losing their lives alone in shelters [of the estimated 16,000 plus dog rescues nationwide, less than 50 of them are dedicated to saving seniors].

On January 1, 2018 they decided to intake their first dog with a goal of helping 50 senior, special needs, and hospice dogs that year. By the end of 2018, Albert's Dog Lounge touched the lives of about 140 dogs, and Albert’s felt that was hugely successful.

But, in 2019, Albert’s more than doubled that. A total of 381 dogs were impacted through transfer, adoption, forever foster homes, and hospice care. That is a 172% increase in the lives that Albert’s Dog Lounge was able to impact from the prior year!

Albert’s Dog Lounge adoption fee is $250. Yet on average, Albert’s Dog Lounge spends $850 on each dog taken into its care. Many of the costs include tumor removals, biopsies, senior bloodwork, enucleation (eye removal), heartworm treatment, and echocardiograms – just to name a few. These costs are all outside of the routine spay/neuter and vaccines that all dogs in rescue receive. Thus, with each dog, Albert’s is about $600 in the red.

Our overall goal is to raise $7,500 to help Albert's continue its mission this year. This amount will cover approximately one month of veterinary bills, allowing Albert’s to provide compassionate care to even more senior, special needs, and hospice dogs.

THANK YOU for joining, donating, sharing, and caring! Old dogs make great new friends, and our new friends need us now more than ever!
