$1,000 goal

Hi, we are team UPLift DC; a group of seniors at the University of the District of Columbia!

Though, some of us are pursuing degrees in Accounting, while others are working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, one thing we all have in common is a vested interested in endeavors that bring tutoring and mentoring opportunities to youth in the DMV area. Over the past year, we have been enrolled in a course called, Frontier Capstone; a class that centers around students working in teams to come up with a project that focuses on something we feel passionately about. We are happy to be partnering with the nonprofit organization SciTech2U who brings interactive learning opportunities to students in grades K through 12 in the DMV area. Our project is simple; we want to use this online fundraising campaign to raise awareness and funds for the important work that SciTech2U is doing in the community.

More about SciTech2U:

The mission of SciTech2U is to bring quality STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) programs to students in grades K through 12. Since 2011, the nonprofit organization has provided interactive learning opportunities to students; proudly investing time in ensuring their programs are accessible to all students regardless of their gender, ethnic/racial identities, or socio-economic status. Additionally, SciTech2U hopes these learning opportunities will support the students who aspire to pursue STEAM focused job opportunities in the future, essentially helping to diversify the work-force.
