HOT ART: Higher Order Thinking Through Creative Expression
At HOT ART, we believe the arts are more than just an outlet—they're a powerful way to practice Higher Order Thinking (HOT), the kind of learning that builds problem solvers, empathetic leaders, and creative citizens. Inspired by Bloom’s Taxonomy, HOT ART supports experiences where the act of creating is recognized as the highest level of thinking—and we make space for people of all ages to engage at that level.
Led by licensed art educator Katie Ross, a passionate teacher with over a decade of experience in Bloomington and a mother of four creative daughters, HOT ART champions both community-wide events and youth-centered programs that invite imagination, collaboration, and meaningful expression. Through her studio, The Arts Creative, Katie hosts hands-on classes for adults and camps that nurture kids' artistic voices. And through events like the Bloomington Street Arts Festival, she brings that energy into the streets—transforming everyday spaces into celebrations of creativity, inclusion, and connection.
When you give to HOT ART, you're supporting:
🎨 Youth art programs taught by a dedicated educator who knows how to challenge and uplift
🎭 Community arts events that are free, joyful, and rooted in shared experience
💡 Access to higher-level thinking for all ages through the creative process
Every donation helps us expand opportunities, provide materials, and keep the arts alive and accessible in our city. Let’s keep the fire of creativity burning—because when we create, we think deeper, connect better, and build stronger communities.
Support HOT ART. Support Higher Order Thinking. Support the art of becoming.
