The Final Stretch..

Update posted 7 years ago

Well Guys, it's been an eventful spring that hasn't allowed for much running, but i am happy to report that i have actually gone running a couple times this week, and am planning to keep it up. officially i will walk the 5K, but we'll see what happens! Jupiter, my rescue puppy is loving being back on the trail with me too :) We'd love to meet the goal of $300 to add to ILC's fundraising goal for lyme research and awareness, so if you can, please contribute something. Even a dollar or 5 helps!!

TEAM ILC is running in the One America 500 Festival Mini Marathon to raise funds that pay for physician education on Lyme disease in Indiana. Lyme everywhere and you are at risk! Learn more at http://www.indianalymeconnect.org/

Hi! I'm Vanessa Rae, and I didn't realize I had chronic Lyme until almost TWO YEARS after my diagnosis, which came at least 14 years after infection. For years I dismissed my symptoms as the aches and pains of living a full life as a mom and entrepreneur, or attributed them to real health issues that weren't the root of the problem but were themselves actually symptoms of chronic Lyme-MSIDS. Now that I am more educated, I realize I have suffered from at least one seizure and one minor stroke due to Lyme, and that I have extensive neuro-degeneration... Even more devastating is the realization that Lyme is affecting my daughter, and that she likely is struggling with congenital Lyme on top of being a typical American teen!

I'm starting to get a handle on my health with a lot of time and focus. Staying active is an essential part of my self-care routine and this mini-marathon even is a convenient way to do this while supporting a cause near and dear to my heart. Thank you for your support and donations toward the search for a cure to Lyme Disease!

When you first realize that the "hard to catch, easy to cure" philosophy is entirely wrong and start looking for real answers you quickly find that Lyme is an overwhelming topic. It seems impossible to navigate the medical controversy surrounding Lyme. Through the brain-fog that envelops you when the Lyme is flaring the many, often expensive, protocols are hard to choose from. The conflicting opinions confuse and relief seems impossible to find...

Visit facebook.com/blymie to see the links I curate that can help people with the simple things you can do on your own to get better. Start off with learning simple strategies to transition to a personalized Lyme+ diet that will allow you to feel your best and help your treatment protocol be the most effective in spite of a busy world that doesn't stop for Lyme. Delve deeper into holistic lifestyle choices you can make to support your healing and maintain your wellness. By understanding what Lyme is and how it works, you can learn easier ways to live with it while you pursue your chosen healing protocol.
