MEXICO, ENSENADA

Purpose: Provide compassion to immigrant communities in the Baja Peninsula through construction of houses, education and community care.

Description: Teams will Partner with Baja Bound to

⮚      Construct five homes for migrant families in need.

⮚      Support Baja Bound through serving and loving children of local orphanages. 

⮚      Provide nutrition to children through a daily feeding program.

⮚      Assist the Baja Educational initiatives.

From July 20-27, we will be traveling to Ensenada, Mexico with Oak Pointe Church and partnering with Baja Bound to build homes for families in need. Over the course of the week, our team will work alongside local families and volunteers to construct five homes, as well as engage with the migrant community, offering a combination of practical assistance and emotional support. This mission is not only about providing shelter but also building connections and fostering hope within a community that faces significant challenges.

Growing up in two different refugee camps, I learned firsthand the value of having a place to call home. For many, four walls may seem like a basic need, but for those who’ve experienced displacement and uncertainty, it becomes so much more-it’s a sanctuary, a place of protection, and a symbol of hope for a better future. I’ve seen how a home can transform lives, providing not only physical shelter but emotional security and the space to rebuild after hardship. This mission to build homes in Mexico holds a personal significance for me because I understand how much a stable home can mean to someone who has known what it’s like to live without one. This full circle moment will allow Taylor and I an opportunity to serve and live out our faith in a practical way while gaining valuable experience in team work, community collaboration, and compassion on a broader scale.
