September 7, 2026 – THANK YOU to all of those who have already donated to support Youth Rock NC! We have officially reached our initial goal of $5k, which will cover our operating costs to sustain us through the beginning of 2027!
Now, we are extending the fundraising goal so that we can begin our planning for the 2027 summer camp season! From here on out, your support will directly go towards ensuring we can offer:
At least $5,000 in Equity Scholarship funds for Black youth, Indigenous youth, youth living with disabilities, and/or undocumented youth so that they can go to camp.
Stipends for our paid summer camp staff, including Camp Directors, Wellness Facilitators, Gear Managers, and Operations Managers; and for some volunteers who might otherwise not be able to attend camp.

Youth Rock NC (formerly Girls Rock NC) is a youth-centered organization dedicated to building community and power among girls, transgender youth, and gender expansive youth through musical collaboration, political education for social change, and creative expression. Every year, YRNC hosts an incredible summer camp where youth get to receive instruction on an instrument of their choice, write original music, and participate in a range of workshops with their peers, all while generating power through creative collaboration.
As many of you know, Youth Rock NC is a small grassroots organization run entirely by volunteers. We have a very small budget that is exclusively dedicated to sustaining our operating costs and making summer camp happen. The majority of our donations are dedicated to our Equity Scholarship fund, which allows us to offer free summer camp tuition to Black youth, Indigenous youth, youth living with disabilities, and/or undocumented youth.
