As you are planning your year-end giving, please include HOPE.
Your donations make a huge impact.
Your giving helps to assure that HOPE is able to provide services that help people beyond keeping them alive:
QUESTION: Do government grants provide for all the needs of the shelter?
ANSWER: Grants only cover about 60% of the cost of operating the shelter. To fully care for the guests, HOPE needs additional private donors to help with the remaining 40%.
Donors like you are so important. HOPE needs the support of so many people.
Your giving makes a huge difference!
Being fully funded empowers HOPE to go beyond the basic needs. HOPE is very innovative
These innovative aspects of HOPE help to drive better outcomes for our shelter guests.
Each year, more than 250 guests exit the shelter to a place they can call home.
HOPE guests gave a recidivism rate typically 5% or less.
Each year, more than 250 shelter guests exist the shelter to a place they can call home. The HOPE recidivism rate is less than 5%. HOPE achieves high ratings even though we start with the toughest cases (low barrier), receive guests on an emergency basis (in real time, not based on a daily check-in over several days), and we do not operate our own housing agency (we collaborate with other agencies).
HOPE is innovative in the approach to sheltering:
* Low barrier shelter (no required sobriety, no required background check, no required ID)
* Recuperative Care (when someone a place to recuperate when they have been discharged to home, but do not have a home where that can rest, follow doctors orders, and heal from an injury, a surgery, or lengthy illness requiring a safe calm environment.)
* Staff training (shelter staff are trained in Trauma Informed Care, De-escalation Techniques, Naloxone use to save lives from drug overdose, AED use to shock a heart back into rhythm, and a customer service mindset to help keep guests engaged longer so that we can resolve their homelessness).
* In-house case Service Navigators (case managers) to help guests discover their particular plan of action to meet their needs to resolve their experience with homelessness permanently.
* Ongoing access to help to help guests remain in their new home and to continue progressing along their new path to a better life.
Your gift helps support all of this.
Thank you!
