Trina's Barn to Beach Ride and Raffle for RTT

     I have been volunteering at Riding to the Top for almost four years now. I began helping out as a sidewalker and horse leader in lessons.  Shortly after my first fundraising ride for RTT (the one that got me back in the saddle), I also joined the Volunteer Schooling Team, riding the therapy horses to help keep them fit, healthy, and happy. These days you can find me there at least two days a week, helping in lessons and riding.  RTT has become an important part of my life. The horses, riders, trainers, staff, and volunteers have become teachers, mentors and friends. The progress I see with my riders, both physical and emotional, the bonds formed between horses and riders, and the joy experienced by all involved is priceless. I am thrilled that the program has resumed to full capacity this summer after the hard felt challenges of the pandemic.

     I am so excited for this opportunity to ride in the Barn to Beach Fundraiser! This is a group ride (and possible swim) on beautiful private trails and beach in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I will be riding Abby, a sweet and salty white Percheron mare I've really grown to love. She is a sensitive and steady therapy horse in the ring but as a former trail horse; the trails are her true happy place. This will be an experience to remember.

    My friends at RTT are also the ones responsible for getting me back into painting. After a request a couple of years ago for a portrait of a friend's beloved King Charles Cavalier, I have been busy doing animal portraits ever since. So in an effort to raise even more funds for this incredible organization I have decided to raffle off one custom 20"x 20" oil animal portrait. Each $25 donation buys one raffle entry. You may purchase as many  as you like.  Every dollar truly makes a difference.
