At People Helping Paws Dog Rescue, our mission is to give every dog a fighting chance. Many of our rescues come to us as a last resort needing treatment for illnesses and injuries. Your donation goes toward the treatment of illness and injuries, along with routine wellness care like vaccines and heartworm prevention for our foster dogs, and helps us provide veterinary assistance for families in need.
Success Stories:
Peanut
We received a message about a stray dog that wondered on someone's property. He was starving, full of worms, and covered in lice, maggots and ticks. We took him in and immediately recognized the severity of his condition. At the emergency vet he was put on fluids and antibiotics, sedated and shaved, and had xrays taken that showed rocks in his stomach.
Since then, Peanut has made a full recovery and is living happily adopted ever after!
Abandoned Pups
One of our volunteers had a family of five puppies and their mom wander onto their property. Our team was able to secure four of the puppies and mom, but unfortunately one of the puppies had already passed.
We took everyone in for exams and unfortunately one of the puppies was symptomatic and tested positive for parvo. Luckily, it was caught early enough that we were able to get the puppy treated and the rest of the family remained healthy!
Since then, mom and two of the pups have been adopted! Two puppies are still awaiting their forever homes and are available for adoption on our website.
These are just two tales of the many tails we’ve saved this past year!
