Nina, a 1-year-old lab mix, was abandoned at a river where people bathe in Cabo Rojo in Puerto Rico. Being abandoned in Puerto Rico often leads to a horrific life for dogs...dodging traffic, being abused by humans who view them as pests, even being poisoned! But Nina got lucky.
At the bathing site, she was so loving with everyone, especially a young girl who decided to take her home. They did the right thing by her because they made sure she got spayed and vaccinated! We want to honor this amazing family who took her in and cared for her and got her ready for a new forever home in the DC area.
That young girl and her family helped Nina learn that not every human is bad. Nina is so extremely sweet and very playful with humans (and other dogs!) We think she is about 1 yr old because she has pearly white teeth. Her personality is still like that of a puppy...playful, friendly and very loving.
