Young Professionals for TFS is a giving circle which raises funds specifically for The Fishing School (TFS), a DC-based nonprofit providing high-quality afterschool, summer, and parent engagement programs for over 400 students in underserved communities.
We welcome donations from individuals 35 years and younger who want to engage in philanthropy early and have a passion for youth-development work.
Funds raised support the purchase and instruction of TFS’ read aloud books, which are critically important to growing students’ literacy skills and ensuring their academic and professional success.
The Fishing School prepares public school elementary and middle school students for success in high school and life by improving their academic performance and life skills; and engaging them and their parents in intensive, multi-year, and research-based out of school time and parent engagement programs and activities.
