CHRISTMAS FEED AND CLOTHE CAMPAIGN
Imagine being a small child and having to worry about shelter, food, and clothing. Imagine how a small child feels when there is no-one in this world to turn to for help and there is no-one to offer support by providing the most fundamental of necessities.
Just imagine yourself living out in the open. Your only bed is the cold stone ground. You are wearing rags for clothing, your blanket is thinner than a bed-sheet and you do not know from where your next meal will come from. This is the cruel predicament faced by thousands of poor families and street children.
WHAT OF ONLY DREAMING HOW YOU WOULD HAVE LOVE TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS BUT YOU CAN'T EVEN AFFORD A SINGLE MEAL.
Did you know that hunger is the world’s biggest solvable problem?
• Did you know that 815 million people go to sleep hungry every night?
• Did you know that one child dies every 6 seconds due to hunger?
WHY THE PROJECT
This project seeks to help us bring street children together, identify their challenges, and provide unique solutions to these problems.
Feed and Clothed is going to be one of the biggest events in bringing street children together to educate, feed, and put smiles on the faces of these street children this festive season so that they do not feel neglected.
NEEDS ASSESSMENT
In order to improve the situation of these children, it’s necessary for families and local communities to contribute either individually or as a group to supplement the effort of streetChild Support and those of other development partners. Therefore, there is the need to call for both local and international organizations, communities, groups, development partners, corporates organizations, and private individuals to contribute in order to improve the situation under which these street children live and grow.
Our Motivation - Why Do We Do This?
Those of us who have food in our fridge, a roof over our head and a bed to sleep on are richer than 76% of the world.
If you have money in the bank, and some spare change you are among the top 8% of the world’s most wealthy people.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness you are more blessed than the million people who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the agony of imprisonment or torture, or the horrible pangs of starvation you are luckier than 500 million people alive and suffering.
If you can read this message you are more fortunate than 3 billion people in the world who cannot read it at all.
Other people have not been so lucky as you in life. They don’t have a fridge. They don’t have a microwave to warm food. They can’t go out to a restaurant.
