WHO WE ARE

Salaam Community Wellness Center is a unique, innovative, integrative health and wellness center established in 2020 in response to the devastating effects that COVID-19 had on black and brown communities on Chicago's South Side.  The center provides the best of western and non-western medicine to low-income communities regardless as to their income or insurance status. We provide conventional medical care in a culturally-responsive manner along with non-western modalities which include deep breathing, meditation, yoga, massage therapy, acupuncture, music therapy and more.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The cost of each patient visit is approximately $250. On average we only receive between $50 - $80 for each visit from self-pay and insured patients. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO PROVIDE QUALITY HEALTHCARE REGARDLESS AS TO THE COST.

PROGRESS REPORT

2021 - Completed the renovation of a formerly abandoned building and now have a 3300 sq ft health facility with 4 exam rooms, laboratory, multi-purpose room and "wellness room".

2022 - Opened our doors. Started proving our integrative model of healthcare.

Installed an organic Paradise Garden on two vacant lots  

Launched our massage therapy and yoga programs. 

Conducted our 1st Annual Health and Wellness Expo

2023 - Conducted our 1st "Women's Health & Wellness Spa"

Conducted our 2nd Annual Health and Wellness Expo

Renovated and enalarged our Paradise Garden 

Expanding mental health services through a collaboration with a workforce readiness program and Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
