Camper Incentives for Hi-Hill at Camp Oakes

What makes Hi-Hill at YMCA Camp Oakes one of the best experiences a fifth grader in Long Beach can experience? In addition to being able to discover the world beyond their communities, the Y finds ways to incorporate the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into each day.

Program leaders challenge campers to practice the core values. At the end of the day campers who are willing to share how they demonstrated a core value are given the chance to pick a prize.  At the end of the week the camp leaders pick one student who best demonstrated the core values, and that camper is presented with a backpack.  This values program is being sponsored by the Greater Long Beach Y Service Club, helping our children become all they can be!
