Teen Enrichment Tours is a travel enrichment program that combines the power of learning with travel to expand the knowledge of the world, embrace new cultures and people, while learning more about oneself, and learning to be independent and confident.
This program improves interpersonal communication skills and supports independent and self-responsible behavior by providing opportunities to augment social skills, and connect to studies outside of the classroom. For the past twenty years, this program has bridged socioeconomic and intellectual environments within their own communities. The yearlong program culminates with an educational tour in a European country.
Teens learn about the culture of their peers from multiple communities. During time abroad, connections are made while immersed in the culture and interacting with the inhabitants of a given city.
At monthly meetings, the teens learn how to work together for a common goal. Although the group is populated with members of varying socioeconomic status, they share the struggles of teenage life and troubleshoot positive strategies.
If we meet our fundraising goal, we will be in the running for a $100,000 grant from USA Today and the Journal News!
