Bethany's Trip To Guatemala

From January 7 through 14, I will be going with a group of Gordon College students will be going to Guatemala to help in the continued rebuilding effort. We will be working with Partners in Development, a Christian community development organization that has been working in Guatemala since 1990, coming alongside Guatemalans to create lasting change. For many years PID has been building houses in Haiti, all of which survived the both earthquakes. You can learn more about PID at www.PIDonline.org.
Our team will work alongside a full-time Guatemalan construction crew, helping with construction for the housing program by providing most of the grunt labor. The days will be spend on the construction site, while nights will be spent learning more about Guatemala and hearing stories from members of the community. We sleep in a bunkhouse on the compound.
Each team member is responsible for raising $1,800 for the trip. This will cover our airfare, food, transportation in Guatemala and the costs of the construction work. We need to have all of the money raised by December 14. Would you consider supporting me in this work? Any contribution you make would be greatly appreciated.
We also ask for your prayers for the duration of our trip. Please pray for our health and safety both in traveling and on the construction site, and for our attitudes and energy to be a gift to those we are going to serve.
