Help make fitness inclusive & affordable to all
A nonprofit fundraiser supporting
Radically FitI'm deadlifting on 1/11 to help my awesome gym subsidize memberships for folks who can't afford it.

$500 goal
Three years ago I would not have imagined that lifting weights would be not only make me stronger and more confident in my body, but also be great for my mental state. I doubt that would have happened if I'd started out in the average gym. Radically Fit is an inclusive place that's about strong-not-skinny, confident-not-perfect, and community-not-competition. It's also about making that support available to people who can't afford what some of us can, so I'll be be trying to best my deadlift PR on January 11 to help support subsidized memberships.
More about RadFit:
Radically Fit was built to serve the LGBTQ/POC community by offering a safe, inclusive, and body positive space for anyone to work out and build strong relationships. At Radically Fit we believe that all people, regardless of socio-economic status, should have equitable access to health and fitness services. That is why no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.
In order to make our services accessible to all, we offer:
- A sliding scale membership option where anyone can pay what they can
- A reduced rate POC personal training program for our members of color
Since opening our doors last year we've provided over $21,000 of free and discounted services to 60 of our community members. We've had 47 folx participate in our sliding-scale Community Cares program and subsidized over $16,500 in membership fees. We've had 13 people of color participate in our reduced rate POC personal training program and subsidized over $4800 in personal training services.
We are making fitness services accessible to the folx who are consistently underserved and under-represented in the mainstream fitness industry. The need is clear; currently almost 40% of our members are on the community cares program. But offering reduced rate services comes at a cost and we need support to sustainably offer low cost services to our low/no income community members.
In order to continue offering low and no cost services to the most marginalized members of our community, we need support. We are aiming to earn back this $20,000 in lost revenue during this January's fundraising event - Queers Who Lift: A Fundraiser to Keep Radically Fit's Sliding Scale Program Alive!
