Thank you to all of our supporters who have contributed to the #StrongerTogether2020 campaign. Â Only 5 days left and we've exceeded our half-goal because of YOU!
Since the suspension of our Client and Transportation Services in March due to COVID-19 protocols, BAWAC staff members have stepped up to perform essential production work, including packaging lunches for UMC Food Ministry. Â Maintaining these jobs is not only an asset for the community, but is also helping to sustain some revenue.
Our Transportation Department has answered the call of the community as well by partnering with Meals on Wheels and picking up and delivering several hundred meals a week for those in need.
Our office staff have been maintaining the essential functions on the administration side of things by working from home. Our CRS staff have been maintaining contact with consumers to check in on them and ensure they have what they need, and our Supported Employment staff are working remotely to continue services with their clients.
We are grateful to have access to personal protection equipment necessary to keep our essential workers safe. Every effort is being made to routinely sanitize the building, equipment and vehicles used to transport meals. Additionally, all precautions are being taken to maintain personal distancing protocols while performing essential duties.
Our collective cooperation to keep BAWAC running during this unprecedented time is remarkable, but now more than ever we find ourselves dependent upon the supplemental support of the community.
