This May, celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by supporting KCCEB’s mental health prevention and early intervention services!

The nimble and knowledgeable staff at KCCEB is always ready to meet our community where they are to address their mental health needs with cultural resonance and understanding. Here's what we accomplished in 2023:

The unprecedented challenges of the past few years created opportunities for innovative ways to foster community safety and collective well-being. However, recent changes to government policy means drastic cuts to funding for mental health prevention and early intervention programs; the culturally-specific programs that community members like JR depend on.

JR started counseling due to family conflict and school-related stress. Upon closing their case, they shared:

“KCCEB team members are like daughters, embodying the warmth and care of a family member who’s there to support, celebrate, and sometimes even worry alongside me. They are friends, offering a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on during times of laughter and times of tears. As teachers, they have been a source of prudent information and guidance, helping me navigate the complexities of my situation with knowledge and patience. And most importantly, they are pillars—anchors in the stormy seas of life, providing stability, strength, and hope when it seems like all is lost."
