Nicholas and I are setting out to raise money for Barefoot Republic. As many of you know, he and I are diehard fans of Amy Grant. This is an organization that is near and dear to her heart. Two weeks of every summer she opens her farm to this organization and personally volunteers to help with many of the various activities. In October 2020, she is opening her farm for a special weekend with her fans. All the proceeds of this event will go directly to Barefoot Republic. We have an opportunity to be a part of a team of participants that are fundraising for that very cause. Some of the team members are running 5K, 10K and even half-marathons. Because of my numerous cervical spine surgeries, I am no longer able to run, but I can definitely walk! I wanted something that would be a challenge, so Nicholas and I are training to walk the Osage Prairie Trail that runs from Skiatook to Tulsa in Oklahoma. The trail was completed in 2006 along an old railway. It is 14.5 miles in length. The plan is to complete this feat on Saturday, April 25, 2020. As a team, our goal is to raise $50,000 which would send 200+ children to this awesome camp! Nicholas and I have a personal goal to raise $5000. The opportunity to donate will run from October 2019 through September 2020. Any support that you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to research more information about the Barefoot Republic organization at barefootrepublic.org . For anyone donating $25 or more, we will put your name on the backs of our shirts to be worn on the day of the walk. Thank you for your consideration!
