I believe that when we invest in children, we are investing in the strength and future of our entire community.

Throughout my professional journey, I have learned the value of helping people, building relationships, and being intentional about the impact we leave on others. My career and education have shaped my view of service, leadership, and the importance of creating opportunities for people to succeed.

Those values are a big part of why I Would Rather Be Reading is so meaningful to me.

As both an IWRBR Board Member and volunteer, I have had the opportunity to support this mission in different ways and see firsthand the care, energy, and commitment that goes into serving children and families across Louisville. Being involved with IWRBR has allowed me to contribute not only through leadership and advocacy, but also by giving my time and being personally connected to the work happening in our community.

Literacy is so much bigger than simply being able to read a book. It gives children the confidence to participate in the classroom, express themselves, continue learning, and begin discovering what they are capable of. When we help a child become a stronger reader, we are helping build a foundation they can carry with them for years to come.

I believe we all have something we can contribute to our community. Sometimes that is our time. Sometimes it is our experience, our relationships, our resources, or simply our willingness to use our voice to bring attention to something that matters. I am proud to use mine to advocate for IWRBR and the children and families this organization serves.

That is why I am supporting I Would Rather Be Reading during Give for Good Louisville. This is an opportunity for all of us to come together and make an investment in Louisville’s young people.
