2026 Cycle Across Illinois - Team Grover 3296

Team Grover3296 is riding with the Illinois COPS across Illinois in honor of Illinois native, Colorado State Trooper Corporal Daniel Groves. Kelly and Chuck Romeo are representing the entire Groves family.   

Dan known as son, brother, uncle, Grover or UD ended his watch on March 13, 2019 while living his dream. He was hit and killed by a distracted driver while helping a stranded motorist during a weather event known as a bomb cyclone.

A lifelong call to service led him to fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer by joining the Colorado State Patrol in 2007. Prior to his career with CSP, he had a career in the technology services industry at Harris Associates in Chicago, Illinois. A kind and spiritual man, he will be fondly remembered by all as a man with an infinite capacity to love, and a genuine desire to protect and serve. While his watch has ended, may we all take comfort in knowing he is now watching over us.
