Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago we had a scare in our family. Our much beloved pet bird, Sunny, flew away by mistake. Sunny is a cockatiel and is very attached to and loved by my dad. She is still a young bird and was hand-raised, so we had great fear of her ability to know how to return to us, let alone survive the wild. We were in deep anguish and we leaned on God for help. As we did, all of scripture came alive to me as we chased her from tree to tree, trying to coax her to fly down to us.

I was reminded of the parable of the shepherd leaving behind the 99 sheep to find the one lost sheep. Even as I write this to you now, that sentence feels so profound to the mission God has called us to. We could wonder why risk it all for the one? Why go so far, why now, why even?? But this is the example of God's love for us! He loves us all, and no one is beyond His saving. This is why He commissioned us and the 11 to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything [He] [has] commanded [us]. (Matt. 28:19-20) We left behind our responsibilities for the day and only wandered into our backyards and our neighbors in search of the one we loved. God loves all! Even those in the remote parts of the earth, and commissions us to reach them to tell of His love!

Can you believe that Sunny was flying from tree to tree for a about half a mile from her house, overnight and in the rain?! Trusting and believing that God would still answer our prayers we carried on our search early next morning and were able to locate her and encourage her to fly down to us! As we gaze on Sunny each day we feel blessed and encouraged to have living proof that God answers all prayers and that there will indeed be great rejoicing in heaven when even "one sinner...repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent." (Luke 15:7)

Please continue to pray for me as I prepare myself daily by meditating on His word and reflect on what God is calling me to do. I pray in anticipation of the people I will encounter on my trip and I pray that they will see Him through me. Amen!

Hi everyone,

For sometime I have felt the calling to rejoin the mission field. So when the church I have been attending, Grace Fellowship, announced a mission trip to Peru to serve in some remote communities together with the ministry, "Hearts in Action",  I knew I could not quiet the Spirit's nudging to go!

I am scheduled to leave on November 7-15th to serve with a team of 20. Our trip will include: visiting a children’s hospital and distributing gifts to the children and their parents, distributing “blessing bags” to families in both Chincha and Lima, visiting a boys and girls home and ministering to them, hosting a women’s conference at a church in Lima, visiting multiple schools and spending time with kids – sharing the love of Christ with each of them, visiting an orphanage and spending time with kids as well as doing some light labor for them, host some “outreach days” in the community to bring kids together for a time of fellowship, and much more.

God is always at work! Though the past five years of my life have taken me through a lot of transitions, I believe, God has stilled the waters for now so I can step out in faith. I also believe He was equipping me through the various roles He plunged me into such as being a Sunday School teacher, a small group leader, a worship leader, and so much more. I am eager to go out into the world to share his love and compassion for everyone!

I ask you to partner with me in prayer for myself and the team as we prepare spiritually and develop as a unified team. Please pray that I am in tune to God's work and do not give up the hope that has been renewed in me through our Lord Jesus.  If you can, I also ask you to consider partnering with me financially. The cost of this trip is estimated to be $2,250, and any donation, big or small, would not only help me, but also help those whom we will have an opportunity to serve in Peru.*

God tells us repeatedly in His word that He both hears and answers the prayers of His people. Pray that His glory will be seen in such a way as to draw believers closer to Him and for unbelievers to really see Him for the first time. Thank you so much for considering partnering with me on this adventure.

If you decide to help financially, you can donate by clicking the donate link below.  If you have any questions or if you would like to pray with me, please reach out to me via text, email, or meet me in person! I will post updates as they come up here. Feel free to re-visit the page to see how the preparations are going.

Love,
Monica

*Please note that under all circumstances all donations received are nonrefundable and that in the event that I, the trip participant, have to withdraw from the trip or if for some unforeseen reason the entire mission trip is cancelled, your donated contribution(s) will be applied to specific projects designated for this mission trip, such as medical supplies, construction/building projects, trip preparation, ground costs or special projects. Extra money that comes into Grace Fellowship will go into the PERU Nov’25 short-term mission trip fund or other mission trip funds and cannot be refunded to the donor or given to the team member for personal use.
