I am a board member of Children's Village, a non-profit organization that is dear to my heart.
Children’s Village understands that a child who has lost their parents shouldn’t have to lose their community, too.
That’s why Children’s Village exists. Since 1980, we’ve provided 24‑hour family-style Cottage Homes on our rural campus outside of Tyler, Texas. These homes have allowed children in foster care – with a focus on sibling groups – to live together under the care of Cottage Parents and remain enrolled in Tyler ISD or other nearby school districts.
Our conviction is that a child will remain with us in a Cottage Home until they return to a family member or are adopted – a goal that’s been met over 95% of the time since 2004.
Since 2004, Children's Village has served the following number of kids:
133 Children
55 Children Adopted (49 were siblings)
65 Children returned to their family of origin
