ABOUT: Caring Hands Outreach Center is a community-based organization dedicated to serving the needs of our neighbors in eastern Polk County. They partner with local Christian churches and community groups to provide essential services, including a food pantry in Altoona. Their thrift store, also located in Altoona, helps support the food pantry through its sales.
IMPACT: Food insecurity is an issue that impacts over 300,000 Iowans each year. With the help of partner churches, community partners, and volunteers, Caring Hands works tirelessly to create a lasting impact in eastern Polk County. Here’s a glimpse of the impact made in 2025:
