Fall is cozy season and we're thankful these and so many more dogs & puppies in need are safe & warm with us as they wait for their new families.

Adoption fees help cover the bulk of the care needed for our pups, but they often have medical needs far beyond what an adoption fee can cover. Many adults come to us with heartworm infection and it's very expensive to treat. It's also common for adult dogs to test positive for exposure to tick born illnesses that require a 30 day course of doxycycline. We've had dozens and dozens of pups come in with demodectic mange and ringworm this summer,  and that also requires treatment. On top of that, this year we've already done dozens of dental cleanings with extractions, a couple eye surgeries, had several dogs need x-rays and ultrasounds, and more.

These extra medical expenses are a huge challenge for any rescue, and many groups are simply unable to intake pups that could potentially need heartworm treatment or require special medical care because they just can't afford it. Your donations and support ensure that we can take in dogs & puppies in need, no matter their medical condition. We aren't restricted to only pulling dogs from shelters that have the resources to test for heartworm infection, because if a dog is positive, we can provide that treatment. We don't have to turn away pups that need help, simply because we can't afford the care.  In addition, when we take a litter of puppies from a member of the community we always offer to take the parents, but if they wish to keep them, we get those adults fixed for the family. It's a big expense for us, but it reduces the number of pups in need and lets people keep the pets they love. This is all possible because we have such kind & generous donors and we're very responsible with our funds.

This fall we're raising $2,500 to help bridge the gap between the the funds generated by adoption fees & the care our pups need so we can keep bringing in pups no matter their medical condition. We hope you'll join us in helping to give more pups a second chance by making a donation today!
