The 25th Annual PlayOffs are here! 

The PlayOffs is part theater competition, part fundraiser, and all fun.  So much fun, in fact, that we're celebrating its 25yr anniversary as one of Bloomington's biggest fundraisers for the arts!

Let's rewind.

I first saw the BPP Playoffs somewhere in the late 2000s, and it's been so exciting to see how it's grown since then! For the fourth year now, I get the honor of shooting and editing all of the plays alongside my nemesis best friend, Chad. This will be my fourth year working it, and my third year competing. Not to brag, but I've won a trophy both years 😜

So what exactly are The Playoffs, you ask? 

Teams of writers, actors, directors, and managers create an original 3–5 minute play. Along the way they raise money to support Constellation Stage & Screen, earn special advantages through fundraising, and compete for audience votes.

Every play premieres at The World Series, our live screening and awards celebration, where one team is crowned champion.

One team emerges victorious: The World Series Champions.  This is the team with the most combined votes earned through an audience ballot (popular votes) and fundraising (bonus votes).  So the more money each player raises, the better the chance they have of winning the coveted championship trophy!

And how am I going to help lead my team to victory? 

Through hard work, dedication, and some personally supplied incentives. I've hear rummors of t-shirts, professional team photos, a suspicious group outing, and a potential permanent tattoo...?? WE DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO WIN.
