Gathering Momentum
A Six-Week Community Participation Initiative & Fund Drive

What becomes possible when creativity, relationships, and resources are intentionally gathered in service of something we believe in?

The Vision Train Global Art Jam began in 2020 as an experiment in creative connection. Today, it has grown into a global ecosystem of artists, educators, facilitators, musicians, and community builders exploring creativity, collaboration, and cultural renewal together.

In a time when many people are longing for meaningful connection and creative purpose, Vision Train offers a place to practice both.

We discovered something beautifully simple:

Participation creates momentum.

Gathering Momentum is our invitation to put that discovery into practice.

Together, we're raising $33,333 to strengthen the stewardship, communications, technology, programming, and infrastructure that keep the Train moving while remaining accessible to a global community.

What Your Support Made Possible

Our previous community fund drive, Light Up the Tracks, raised $17,381, helping strengthen the foundation Vision Train stands on today.

That experience affirmed something important: when people understand the vision and are invited to participate, they show up.

Thanks to your support, we rebuilt our website, launched an online shop, developed a new Conductor Training, improved our systems, supported our core crew, and produced our largest event yet—an eight-day, 24/7 global gathering featuring more than 60 sessions from 40+ contributors.

The Vision Train has always been powered primarily by passionate volunteer Conductors and a small group of dedicated Engineers. Light Up the Tracks gave us tremendous momentum. Now we're ready for the next step: expanding educational opportunities while sustaining a part-time Operations Team that keeps Vision Train moving every day.

The Birth of Critical Mass

During CONNECTION, our six-year anniversary celebration, a simple question sparked a new experiment:

What would happen if hundreds of artists, musicians, visionaries, facilitators, educators, and community builders gathered together to create at the same time?

Critical Mass began as an invitation to find out.

People from many generations, cultures, and walks of life came together to listen, imagine, create, and share visions for a more connected and creative world.

That experience reinforced what we had already begun to discover:

Participation creates momentum.

Fundraising as Creative Practice

Gathering Momentum is more than a fund drive.

It is an invitation to explore how artists, organizations, and communities creatively resource the work they believe in.

Rather than simply asking people to support the Vision Train, we're inviting participants to become beacons within their own communities—hosting gatherings, sparking conversations, nurturing relationships, and discovering creative ways of gathering momentum wherever they already are.

Those stories, experiments, and discoveries return to the Train, where we learn from one another and continue building together.

Over six weeks we'll explore:

  • Money & Value

  • Reciprocity & Exchange

  • Creative Livelihoods

  • Collaboration & Emergence

  • Celebration & Harvest

Through conversations, Trips, livestreams, and community experiments, we'll explore what becomes possible when fundraising itself becomes a creative practice.
If these themes ignite something in you, we invite you to bring your voice, work, wisdom, or creative offering to the Vision Train stage. Complete the Participation Form to begin imagining what we might create together :
