This fundraiser helps cover the cost of portable practice lights for every team at NMMS and NMES—an expense that now exceeds $21,000 each season. Thanks to the tremendous support of our Lancer families, we have consistently raised enough to cover the lights while reinvesting the remaining funds into field rentals, equipment, uniforms, safety initiatives, technology, training, and other program needs.
This year’s program expenses have included:
Portable practice lights: $21,000
Practice field lining: $7,500
Team equipment: $5,000
Practice equipment: $5,000
Field rental fees: $15,000
Referee fees: $13,500
Technology, including Hudl: $7,600
Training and certifications: $4,200
Varsity camp: $7,000
These expenses total more than $85,000, demonstrating how important this fundraiser is to the continued success of our program.
Our last fundraiser raised more than $64,000, with donations received from 37 states. We hope to build on that success in 2026!
Every dollar raised goes back toward creating the best possible experience for our players — from equipment, uniforms and technology to fields, lights, officials, and other costs that allow us to continue providing opportunities for every athlete in our program.
With such a strong start, we want to give everyone a couple of additional goals to chase:
If we reach $70,000:
LYF will double our contribution to every team’s end-of-season party, giving our teams an even better opportunity to celebrate their players and families.
If we reach $80,000:
LYF will commit the necessary funds to upgrade our entire tackle football helmet inventory to Riddell SpeedFlex helmets. Every helmet issued by our tackle program will be a SpeedFlex model, with more than half of our total inventory upgraded to the SpeedFlex ND6 model.
In addition, we will purchase “headband-style” protective headgear for every player in our Middle School Girls Flag Football program, similar to the protective headgear being deployed at the high school level.
Reaching that goal would allow us to make a significant program-wide investment in the equipment we provide our players — upgrading our tackle helmet inventory across every level of Linganore Youth Football, not just our middle school age groups, while also providing additional protective equipment for all of our Middle School Girls Flag players.
