Sarah Mulloy, APH EHS Manager part of the Finance and HR team, shares what museums and The Dot Experience means to her.

Museums are one of my favorite things to visit when traveling. From National Parks, to State Capitals, to international heritage sites, all are unique and show the pride that the organization has for that particular attraction. As my career has developed at APH from human resources to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, I started noticing the little things more and more while walking through a museum as it relates to accessibility. Some do it very well (the Pearl Harbor Museum in Hawaii is one of the best I’ve seen with tactile, braille, and audio throughout) while others have opportunities for improvement. The Dot Experience aims to set the standard for all museums to strive toward and I am thrilled to be a part of it!

As EHS Manager for APH, my duties include making sure the work areas for both employees and visitors are free and clear of everyday work hazards. This include physical things like keeping walkways clear from obstructions, audio regulation such as loud machinery or warning alarms, and visual warnings like signage. I also facilitate evacuation and lock down practice in light of emergencies or inclement weather. All of this pertains to the visitor experience when we open to the public. As the development of the Dot Experience continues, I advocate for our staff and keep everyone informed on the progress so our staff feel connected to the project even if they don’t live locally. As a company, we want to make sure that the employee experience is just as good as the visitor one so keeping employees involved is a big push for me.

The completion of this project has been on the horizon for some time now so seeing the new spaces being fitted out has been quite exciting! I can’t wait until our staff and guests get to enjoy the space… 2026 is going to be an exciting year at APH!"
