I’m proud to support Cultural Curriculum Project, a nonprofit that connects local school students with the art, culture, and history of South Louisiana through curriculum-aligned field trips.

These aren’t typical field trips. Students learn directly from local culture bearers—musicians, artists, and community leaders—who are paid a living wage to share their stories, traditions, and expertise. It’s hands-on, place-based learning that helps students see themselves in what they’re learning and builds pride in their community.

Why it matters:

• For students: These experiences boost engagement, support social-emotional growth, and improve academic outcomes by making learning relevant and memorable.
• For teachers: Field trips align with classroom curriculum and provide meaningful, high-quality enrichment they often don’t have the resources to offer on their own.
