I am Carroll County Sheriff Ryan Kloepping, and I am honored to be participating in the 22nd Annual Illinois C.O.P.S. Cycle Across America Ride — my first time taking part in this incredible event.
This ride supports Illinois C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), an organization dedicated to assisting the families of fallen law enforcement officers. The funds raised help provide emotional support, financial assistance, training, counseling programs, and survivor retreats for spouses, children, parents, and co-workers of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Over the course of four days, we will ride approximately 316 miles across the State of Illinois, traveling:
Day 1: Edwardsville to Springfield – 99 miles
Day 2: Springfield to Bloomington – 67 miles
Day 3: Bloomington to Bourbonnais – 85 miles
Day 4: Bourbonnais to Chicago – 65 miles
This is more than just a bicycle ride. Along the way, we honor the memory of fallen officers, meet with surviving family members, and reflect on the sacrifices made in service to our communities. Riders often carry the names of fallen heroes and participate in memorial ceremonies. It is a powerful reminder that while these officers may be gone, they will never be forgotten.
I have set a personal goal of raising $1,500 to support Illinois C.O.P.S. and the families they serve. Please consider making a donation to this meaningful cause. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
If you’re unable to donate, I encourage you to cheer us on along the route and help show your support for the families of our fallen heroes.
Thank you for your support!
