Florida Justice Institute (FJI) is an award-winning nonprofit, public interest law firm that uses impact litigation and advocacy to improve the lives of Florida’s disenfranchised residents and underinvested communities, while focusing on preserving human rights in the justice system, empowerment for vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness and poverty, providing dignity and access for people with disabilities, and related civil rights issues.  

You generous donations last year helped fund: 

• Travel costs for 4 attorneys for investigations, client meetings, and court appearances;
• Average court costs in 54 jurisdictions;
• Nearly 50 Public Records Requests (PRR) on average;
• 92% of total fees for expert witnesses; OR
• About 60% of the total cost of FJI's excessive heat case
