A Desperate Delivery Driver

Two days ago, my car suffered a catastrophic engine blowout. I was pushing an old, high-mileage beater to its limits on a delivery route, the engine overheated, and a metal piston rod violently snapped under the pressure. It punched a jagged hole straight through the solid metal side of the engine block.

This is not a breakdown that can be fixed with duct tape, a roadside mechanic, or a cheap replacement part. The entire core of the engine is destroyed. It cannot be patched or welded, and dropping a new engine into a car this cheap costs three times more than the vehicle is even worth. In a single second, my only mode of transportation was reduced to heavy scrap metal.

I have absolutely no other options. My car is dead, and I don't have parents with money. I don't have a savings account. I have exactly nothing to fall back on.

I make my income delivery driving. If I don't have a car to work my shifts, I can't pay my rent. The eviction notice will be on my door by the end of the month. I will be homeless and have nowhere to go, all because I can't afford reliable transportation. Every time I scrape money together, I can only afford a piece of junk that breaks a month later, and I am right back here, drowning.

I am completely out of options, and I am terrified. When you don't have family, there is no one standing behind you to catch you when you fall. It's just a straight drop to the bottom. I am looking over the edge right now, and I am so scared of what's waiting for me.

You all have the money. You could change the entire trajectory of my life today, and you wouldn't even notice the funds were gone from your bank accounts. I just need one real break. I need a new car that won't break down on me while I'm just trying to survive. I am begging you to break this cycle for me. Save my life.
