Michelle V. Raising $ for Junior League of Miami

The Junior League of Miami's (JLM) mission is to empower women, children and families to conquer tomorrow’s challenges and to build a united community. We are an all-women volunteer run non-profit organization that partners with local nonprofits to develop unique programming, provide resources and organize volunteers.

This year, we're celebrating 100 years of uplifting our community! Junior League of Miami is honored to continue driving impact through key projects and initiatives, including:

1. Providing $100,000+ annually in community grants to address key issues in our community such as: food insecurity, homelessness, domestic violence, education and literacy. 
2. Programming at Inn Transition, a transitional housing facility for women and children who are survivors of domestic violence. Junior League of Miami founded the first facility over 30 years ago and through our partnership with Miami-Dade County, JLM continues to provide educational activities and life-skills training for the residents. 
3. Focus on Food Insecurity: More than 10% of our neighbors in Miami-Dade County are food insecure and the number increases to more than 18% for children in our community. We help facilitate free monthly farmers markets to food insecure residents using excess, donated food from grocery stores and restaurants. 
4. Monthly Done in a Day (DIAD) events that assist other local organizations with short-term (one day) events within the areas of food insecurity, homelessness, family violence, child and women's health, early childhood education, and foster care. 
5. Partnering with Uplift Literacy and supporting their mission to maximize lifelong success for children in underserved communities by improving their reading proficiency. In partnering with these schools, children gain the necessary literacy skills and resources to read proficiently by the end of 3rd grade.
6. Provision of four annual scholarships to well-deserving young women in Miami-Dade who are making a difference in our community.

$100 donation = Sponsor a Done in a Meeting (DIAD but in a meeting) initiative! 

$250 donation = 1 week of food for a food insecure family!

$500 donation = Support monthly programing for moms at Inn Transition! 

$1,000 donation = Sponsor a monthly Uplift Literacy event!

$3,000 donation = Support a monthly DIAD project!

All general funds raised by the Junior League of Miami on Give Miami Day will go directly towards community projects! Each unrestricted dollar raised will be matched by our Foundation, doubling your impact!
