Samíl's Put People First! Pa Fundraiser

Dear loved ones:

For most of this past year, I've been organizing as a member of Put People First! PA, fighting for healthcare for all. And if you know me at all, you know that it's hard for me to commit to anything. But this is the place where I've found a home of everyday people fighting with their hearts, minds, bodies to get everyone care with dignity.

Each year, members work hard to raise funds in order to keep the cause going. 

We are a politically independent organization, member-led and without staff. 

What are we fundraising for?

• our annual Membership Assembly, where hundreds of everyday people gather to organize, strategize, and connect to build structures that treat all of us with respect. Through a massive effort, we provide FREE housing, transportation, food, and childcare for EVERYONE who attends!
•  Winter Steering Committee Retreat; 
• helping leaders through periods of crisis with Community Care Funds;
• Travel and transport across 67 counties to build our regional Healthcare Rights Committees; sending delegations across the country and internationally for schools, conferences and exchanges, and of course the everyday costs of our organizing
• The printing and distribution of our member-written and produced Keystone newsletter 
• Our actions planned to continue the fight to restore the adult dental benefit in Medicaid
• And more!

I got to drive this amazing group of folks to this year's membership assembly in State College, PA. We wouldn't have been able to provide free transportation, housing, food to our members if it wasn't for a fundraiser like this one. Photo by Samíl.

This is one of many, many, many, many people we've talked at People's Health Clinics we've set up in Delaware County. Our fundraising supports materials we need to help document people's stories about why we need to take our hospitals back.
