Veteran suicide is on the rise, and more than 40  New Hampshire veterans take their own lives each year. Meanwhile, animal shelters are bursting beyond their capacity and half of all homeless dogs are euthanized.

Since 2013, Operation Delta Dog has been working to improve those odds. We rescue shelter dogs at-risk of euthanasia and train them as life-saving service companions for veterans experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Military Sexual Trauma (MST), at no cost. Dogs get the homes they need, and veterans get the help they deserve.

Psychiatric service dogs are a practical and effective way to reduce stress, treat depression, and manage the panic attacks associated with PTSD, TBI, and MST. Very few service dog organizations offer this service at no cost, and even fewer utilized rescued dogs in their programs.

We serve an undertreated and underserved population and the need is escalating. Meanwhile, the lives of a growing wait list of veterans hang in the balance. Our response is to rescue and train more shelter dogs than ever before in our history to place with every veteran asking for assistance.

Operation Delta Dog is committed to never charge veterans for our services. Your donation will help us honor our commitment to every veteran waiting to be paired with their canine hero to help see them through.
