Prairie Power is the working title for a bold new exhibit being developed by the Nebraska Prairie Museum. At its core, Project: Prairie Power will explore the rich and complex history of the Industrialization of agriculture, electrification of rural Nebraska, and the history surrounding the Tri-County Project, a decades-long effort that transformed agriculture and water management in south-central Nebraska. The exhibit will highlight the political perseverance required to bring the project to life, the rise of industrialized agriculture, and the ongoing importance of soil and water conservation, especially in relation to the Ogallala Aquifer.
