It takes a village – to change the world. It takes you.

Built in 2012 on community-donated land, and led by our community, Oda Foundation has irreplaceable impacts in public and women’s health, women’s livelihood, and children’s education. We believe, resolutely, everyone in rural Nepal deserves to live, and to thrive.

“I never imagined I could save enough to build a house for myself and my daughters. Now we have a safe home. My daughters are thriving.” Punna Kami, Women’s Cooperative member

Join our Oda Foundation family - give a sustaining gift, today.

Because of people who give, we have over a decade of proven impacts: 90% increase in partner school attendance; 6,000 square meters of farmland dedicated to single, female farmers; almost $10k USD saved by the first Women's Cooperative; 9,000 patients served every year.

  • $70k for health: Upfront investments in hospital supplies and staffing to reduce year-over-year costs by 100k in the next 5 years
  • $30k for women’s opportunities: Expanding local training to leverage grants and evaluations for proven livelihood programs, expanding participating families from 200 to 500 (half of Oda village)
  • $20k for girls in schools and early career pathways: Comprehensive support for local trades and higher-impact agriculture, leadership, scholarships, and parent engagement, increasing girls in school and livelihood pathways by 50%

“Now, I can buy my children what they need on my own. That feels powerful.” Pravita Pokhrel, Fastenaktion Agroecology participant

Read more details below on how your support creates impact. We are beyond grateful for your life-changing and life-saving gift: Welcome to the Oda Foundation family.

"My husband died of a high fever, when there was no treatment near to us. Oda Foundation needed land so that we could have a hospital, so we gave our land, and now it is here, so I am happy for that." Amrita Singh, whose family donated their land to make Oda Hospital possible

More on the Oda Foundation, "It Takes A Village Winter Campaign: 120k to Vitalize Oda Foundations Future"

Why $120,000 Matters This Year More Than Ever Before
Oda Foundation has already increased government support to nearly $80,000 USD in direct Nepali government support. Just $120,000 USD in our winter campaign will directly achieve year-over-year financial in-country sustainability with income from women's programs, staffing support, and supplies (like an x-ray machine) that allow us to qualify for Nepal's health insurance program.

Oda Foundation Program Growth Summary

  • From a pharmacy in a cowshed >> hospital with 24/7 ER, ambulance service, immunization campaigns, comprehensive women’s health programs, menstrual hygiene community programs, tuberculosis screening, designated women’s birthing center
  • From 100-student tutoring programs >> local school partnerships improving teacher training for currently 750+ students + parental engagement, safe washrooms, school nutrition, and other programs to keep girls in school and open livelihood pathways
  • From minimal community programs >> women’s cooperative with nearly $10k USD microloan fund, and Karnali Ratna enterprise including agroecology, market businesses, land restoration, animal husbandry, and more

How Can I Be Sure My Money Has an Impact? Why Donate to Oda?

Oda Foundation is community-built, community-embedded, and here to stay. Because of that, our impact is beyond the numbers:

  • We provide direct health care in our clinic to an average of 9,000 people each year. In a region where 1/5 women experience a neonatal death, and health care barriers are abundant, we provide critical emergency and preventative care: nutrition, care for wounds and burns, vaccines, tuberculosis screening, COPD and lung health, lab tests, and more. And we work in the community to create community-led health practices like hand washing, taking a full course of medication, and women's rights (including safe menstruation).
  • A 90% increase in school attendance at our partnership schools in the first year is because for over a decade, we have worked to know families. Because we are providing comprehensive healthcare for girls and their families. Because we are ensuring livelihood opportunities for women where families can envision a future where their daughter is successful, beyond early marriage.
  • Women have joined the Oda Women’s Cooperative and saved into a microloan fund reaching nearly $10,000 USD. Oda Foundation has worked in women’s programs for over 7 years, earning trust and respect from the households we serve. Women working with Oda Foundation are able to do things they never dreamed of, like keep their daughters in school, build a house they own, or learn a trade for themselves.

Thank you, for joining us. It means the world.
Love, Team Oda
