Brewster's Special Appeal...

OK... you're right.  I AM a crazy river rat.

That's why I will be participating once again in our annual Ohio River Way Challenge - a 480 mile, 23 day canoe trip (May 10 - June 1) from Huntington, WV to Evansville, IN.

As co-founder and Board Chair of the Ohio River Way, I am raising funds to support our work to promote recreation, tourism and community development along the Mighty Ohio.

I would be grateful for your help in reaching my goal! 

So please consider a donation by the mile:  

* $.10 a mile = $50

* $.25 a mile = $120

* $.50 a mile = $250

* $.75 a mile = $375

* $1.00 a mile, of course, would be nearly $500

Every tax-deductible donation will help!

This year we will be accompanied by a 55 foot houseboat we call our "Restore Lab".  It will contain equipment that our team of univeristy students will use for water quality testing, biodiversity sampling, communications and drone filming.

The Challenge is an interdisciplinary expedition designed to educate, connect, and celebrate the history, culture, and ecology of the Ohio River and its historic river towns. Through paddling, storytelling, research, community engagement and shared adventure, participants experience the "Ohio River Way of Life".  No better way to grow the next generation of environmental stewards!

Our mission is to help people find adventure, inspire care for the land and water, and boost economies of vibrant Ohio River communities by building partnerships that promote safe, healthy outdoor recreation; education and tourism.
