Dr. Michael "Mick" Diez is a monthly donor to the Bags of Hope program at the Community Food Pantry. Dr. Diez provides hundreds of toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes for the toiletry bags the student volunteers and interns put together. Each bag, in addition to toothpaste and a toothbrush, includes soap or body wash, a granola or protein bar, feminine products, shampoo, lotion, and other toiletry items as available.
Since its inception in 2018, over 45,000 bags have been distributed to homeless individuals or families in crisis, along with a sheet of information pointing to other local support organizations.
