Shine a Light with Friend to Friend

This October, Friend to Friend invites our community to Shine a Light on domestic violence.

Each year, we come together to honor lives impacted by domestic violence, stand in solidarity with survivors, and remind those who may still be suffering in silence that they are not alone and help is available.

Through our Shine a Light campaign, you can purchase a luminary in memory or honor of someone impacted by domestic violence. On October 29th, we will light our luminaries across the community, creating a collective beacon of remembrance, strength, awareness, and hope.

Every light tells a story. Every light represents hope.

Why We Shine a Light

Domestic violence affects millions of people each year, yet too often survivors experience their abuse in silence, isolation, and fear. Shining a light together sends a powerful message: we see you, we stand with you, and a different future is possible.

When you participate in Shine a Light, you are doing more than honoring or remembering someone you love. Your support helps Friend to Friend provide life-saving services to survivors and their families, including:

• A safe place to escape violence

• 24/7 crisis line and live chat support

• Court advocacy and accompaniment

• Counseling and support groups

• Safety planning and other advocacy services

• Resources to help survivors rebuild their lives and independence

On October 29th, as luminaries shine throughout our community, each light will serve as a reminder that survivors deserve safety, healing, dignity, and hope.

How You Can Shine a Light

Purchase a Luminary
With a suggested minimum donation of $20, dedicate a luminary in honor or memory of a loved one, or in recognition of someone impacted by domestic violence.

Have Your Luminary Delivered

For those within Moore County, Friend to Friend will offer delivery during the week of October 26th for donations of $60 or more, which includes three or more luminaries. Delivery details will be coordinated following your purchase.

Pick Up Your Luminaries
Luminaries will also be available for pickup at our Advocacy Office at 101 Monroe Street, Suite A, Carthage, NC 28327. Please allow at least 24 hours' notice after purchase. Pickup is available for all orders, regardless of donation amount.

Light the Night Together
On the evening of October 29th, place and light your luminaries at home as part of our community-wide display of remembrance, awareness, and hope.

Share Your Light
Take a photo of your luminaries and share it on social media using #ShineALightF2F. Help us spread the message that survivors are seen, supported, and never alone.

If there are a large number of luminary purchases within one neighborhood, Friend to Friend may be able to coordinate a group drop-off. Please email info@friendtofriend.me to inquire.
