At the Summer Honors Program, you found kindred spirits. You met peers and adults who understood you, intellectually and creatively. 

You were part of a vibrant community that celebrated curiosity, critical thinking, self-expression, and no small amount of weirdness. SHP exposed you to new ideas and new possibilities and gave you lifelong friends. 

Now it's time for you to carry that forward with a gift of financial support.

Your donation will help a talented but isolated rural teen realize that they're not alone — that they're connected to others who think the way they do. You were once that teen.

About Summer Honors

The Summer Honors Program is a two-week, summer school program designed to help students learn as much advanced subject matter in their areas of study as possible. The nationally recognized program is sponsored by Educational Service Unit #11 in Holdrege. (The program was recognized by the International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development as one of the top gifted programs for rural students in the nation.) 

Given recent budget pressures faced by the Summer Honors Program, donations from alumni and friends are critical to the program’s overall funding. Each year, the SHPAA raises funds for the program, so it can continue to serve program can continue to enrich the lives of students in rural Nebraska.
