A note from Robin:

Give for Good day is here! And this is a day that always makes me reflect on another year as part of the Mattingly Edge community. So many great people committed to the success of people with disabilities. Smart, competent, passionate, wonderful people.

This year marks 10 years since the day I walked though the door of that old building on Newburg Road begging for help. Today, Graham’s been at his job at Brown Foreman for over three years. He owns his own home. He goes and comes just like we all do. He is happy and has learned to do as much as possible on his own, and remember, he’s just one person. Mattingly Edge serves lots of people just like Graham.

In this climate of removing people from Medicaid rolls and cutting benefits, agencies like Mattingly (and there ARE none like Mattingly) are hurting. Many have closed.

This year, I’m just going to come out and say it. How about a big fat donation?

For good lives. Give for Good Lives!

All of us have a role in life we're proud to hold—employee, volunteer, homeowner, parent, spouse—the list goes on.

But people with disabilities are frequently left out from the pursuit of socially valued roles.

Not because they cannot achieve or fulfill these roles, but because society does not expect them to.

Without expectation, there is no opportunity.

At Mattingly Edge, we know that with high expectations and quality support, opportunity starts to unfold around those with disabilities.

When we expect and support people with disabilities to work, go to college, own their own home, and contribute to their communities, they do.

When we expect and support people with disabilities to become employees, volunteers, homeowners, parents, and spouses, they do.

Your support directly benefits Kentuckians with disabilities to find their people, find their place, and share their gifts with the world!

This Give for Good Louisville, your gift will support people like:

Shanae

Shanae | Employee

Shanae wanted to work, and Bubba's 33 gave her the opportunity to do it. Ever since she helped her dad with his lawn care service as a child, Shanae has valued the power of work. When the team at Bubba's 33 - Fern Creek learned about Shanae's experience and can-do attitude, they hired her to work 3 days per week in their dining room! Shanae loves her team and they appreciate her hard work.

Matthew

Matthew | Fitness Buff

Matthew had a great job at UPS and his very own bachelor pad, but he was looking for a third space where he could spend time with others who share his interests. With Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as his inspiration, Matthew decided to hit the gym - more specifically, the Downtown YMCA! Matthew lifts weights 3 times a week and loves to see his fellow gym bros.

Jay

Jay | Student

Jay's dream was to transfer from Jefferson Technical & Community College to Western Kentucky University! But he wanted to adjust to the demands of college life before moving to a new city. With support from Mattingly Edge, Jay got an A in his toughest course and officially transferred to WKU in Fall 2026!

Mia

Mia | Intern

When Mia started exploring future careers, she was drawn to the media and communications aspect of the music industry. With support from Life Launch, Mia connected with Louisville Public Media and became a Waterfront Wednesday intern! Mia was LPM's go-to for day-of event setup and support.

Adam

Adam | Volunteer

During his time in Life Launch, Adam was supported by one of our staff to volunteer at Animal Care Society! His job was to photograph all incoming adoptable cats for their website. The following year, Adam was able to leverage his volunteer experience to obtain an internship with Alley Cat Advocates!

Claire

Claire | Head of Household

Claire has lived with her parents in the Iroquois Neighborhood since she was born. Recently, she and her parents had the opportunity to buy a house close by where Claire plans to live on her own. She has been practicing cooking, creating her own schedule, and learning how to manage a household in preparation!
