This campaign is now closed.

On April 20, 2026, Oliver Garber completed the 130th Boston Marathon in 2:40:50 β€” 1,313th out of 29,376 finishers, top 5% overall, at age 19.

Every one of the 26.2 miles was sponsored. The $3,000 goal was surpassed β€” $5,589 was raised in total by 57 generous donors across many states!

Every dollar went directly to 61 Isaiah Ministries, supporting missionaries, education, discipleship, leadership training, and hunger relief in the Lenca communities of Western Honduras.

To those who gave, prayed, shared, and cheered β€” thank you! What one donor called "a circle of friendship and faith" carried this race from the starting line in Hopkinton all the way to the finish line at Copley Square.

The race is finished now - but the mission is not.

BOSTON MARATHON 2026  Β·  61 ISAIAH MINISTRIES

My name is Oliver Garber.

I have wanted to run the Boston Marathon for years. Two years ago I discovered there was a catch β€” a minimum age of 18 . I was only 17, but that just gave me time to prepare.

Last September I ran the Erie Marathon and finished in 2:47:55 β€” about five minutes under the Boston qualifying standard. But getting in wasn't guaranteed. Only a portion of applicants are accepted, so as soon as I crossed the finish line, we submitted my time  - and we waited. Then the word came: I was in.

THE MISSION

This spring I will toe the starting line at the Boston Marathon β€” the oldest annual marathon in the world, first run in 1897 with just 11 runners and now drawing a field of over 30,000. I want to make every mile count β€” which is where you come in.

My connection to 61 Isaiah began when a family from my church made the decision to move to Honduras and become full-time missionaries. The following summer I joined a six-day mission trip with 61 Isaiah to Gracias, Honduras. I wish to continue my support of that mission β€” with you β€” through this fundraiser.

"61 Isaiah Ministries works with a people group called the Lenca in the mountains of Western Honduras. Our vision is to glorify God by sharing the gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Through building relationships and walking with people, individuals are empowered to break cycles of poverty and become participants in the Great Commission."

I fully believe in what they are doing. This fundraiser is my way of continuing that support β€” and I am inviting you to join us.
